I really think that Damon believes that everything he’s done, every move that he’s made, he’s done for love.
On the bus heading to work and I see the cutest little girl sitting across from me, probably 7 or 8 years old.. Just got out of school with her mom.
She was trying so hard to fight her sleep and keep her eyes open but eventually, sleep won and she was out! Eventually it got me thinking of when I was that age. So innocent, full of energy, and what I miss the most… Living without a worry in the world!
Then I started to think… one day, it’s not for sure but a possibility, a couple years from now, this little girl will start off going to the mall hanging out with friends, then eventually to parties, then eventually drinking and doing whatever is “in” come then and before she knows it… She’s not a bad person… But an “adult” all grown up with pretty much all of the innocents she once had gone.
I mean, that’s what happened to me… I did a lot. Sports was my number one, family, friends, and luckily for me I didn’t too much partying until college. But for me… I don’t remember when I lost my innocents, when I grew up. Was it after my first kiss? My first time sneaking out? (even though it was just to hang out with friends down the street) my first house party? My first shot? Before my eyes, I’m 20 on this bus, on my way to work to pay for school and whatever bills are due this month. I love the life I’ve lived so far, and look forward to what it has in store for me. From my past to my present, I have no “regrets” but what I’d rather call “life lessons”
I choose to no matter what the situation may be, be happy and content with my life. Some days may be harder than others. But I’m just grateful that I have today to enjoy and hopefully what tomorrow has to bring…
